Progressing In A Space MMORPG

By Alicia Z. Thomson

Ever since MMORPG's were first released to the gaming world these massively multiplayer online role playing games have been very popular; this has motivated many gaming designers to start working on space MMORPG games. These games have a number of things in common with traditional role playing games for video game consoles, but include some notable differences as well. One major distinction between the two genres is that MMORPG's put you in contact with hundreds of other players and force you to team up with them. All role playing games, whether they be on consoles or online, will feature a system that progresses your character from the basic levels of the early game to the advanced techniques of the endgame.

Space MMORPG games usually Offer players a variety of character classes to choose from and ask that you do so early in the game since it will determine much of your character's progress and abilities. While specific classes are not better or worse than others, the choice you make will have a considerable impact on your game play. For example, a class that is made to be offensive will probably gain lots of powerful attacks early in the game whereas a supportive healer type will not gain powerful attacks until much later in the game.

Almost all space MMORPG games have a leveling system that sets a numeric level to your character's current progress and increases as they gain experience. This experience can be obtained in many ways, such as defeating enemies, completing quests and other challenges, collecting specific items, and working together with other players in groups. While not every new level will bring massive changes in your character's skill set, you will notice improved stats and more abilities as you progress through the game.

Even though your character's level is a critical part of the game's progression, there are other ways for you to boost your character's skills. At times, you will be given quests and tasks that earn you good rewards, such as rare or powerful items, but not experience that will move you towards a higher level.

Unlike console games that have specific ending points, space MMORPG games offer you endless possibilities and constantly present your character with new challenges. If you want to have your character develop all of the best skills in your favorite game, you will need to spend many hours focused on increasing their level and getting them the best items the game offers.
